Dialogue's Mission Statement

As Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered people, we are the only and best source of knowledge and empowerment about our personal experiences with faith, religion, spirituality and sexuality/gender. We will not allow these experiences to be usurped from us, least of all from those who seek to use faith, religion and spirituality as a weapon against the LGBT community.

Dialogue seeks to:

• create a space for ourselves where we as LGBT people will be supported in our spirituality and sexualities/genders
• be a forum to explore the interaction between our sexualities/genders and our spirituality
• empower LGBT people of faith to resist religiously sanctioned homophobia
• advocate for the LGBT community in our faith communities
• help educate the LGBT community and religious leaders about how LGBT experiences and spirituality interact, and why this must be important to the LGBT community and religious leaders.
